Frequently Asked Questions
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of concentrated focus, a completely natural condition which bypasses the conscious mind. It is sometimes called trance. People experience this all the time – completely engrossed in a book or movie and forgetting about everything else, losing track of time and daydreaming etc. are examples of trance states. A hypnotist has the skill to guide you into this state of mind and, while the critical conscious mind is quiet, the subconscious can accept new ideas easily. Once the suggestion is accepted (agreed on previously by the client in consultation with the hypnotist), the suggestion then becomes part of that client’s beliefs, his “knowns”.
Who can be hypnotized?
Everyone spends some part of every day, hypnotized. A skilled hypnotist helps the client enter that state intentionally. The most important requirement is trust, in one’s own self, in the hypnotist and in the process. Without trust the conscious mind can not become quiet.
Why do I need a consultation first?
Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can positively impact lives, but it is essential you are comfortable with me and that you understand the process completely.
What should I know about online sessions?
What will happen at my first session?
We will discuss, in greater depth, your issue/s and what you hope to gain from hypnosis. Then, you will be guided into a relaxing trance and the new ideas that you have discussed will be offered to your subconscious mind. When you are ready, you will come out of trance and be fully awake and alert.
Can you really do hypnosis over the internet?
A hypnosis session using the internet or telephone can be just as efficacious as an in-person office visit with the added advantages of no travel time, cost or weather considerations to worry about. Schedule a complimentary consultation now and you will see how easy it is.
